v 1
Page 2
November 23, 1992
#9-4057 - Stockton
s MW-1 through MW-3 were resurveyed as a part of this site assessment using the same
benchmark. New wellhead survey data indicates a change in well head elevation from the previous
survey data.
s The ground water gradient at the site is flat; therefore, any errors in ground water measurement
could significantly change the calculated ground water flow direction.
• As documented in Pacific Environmental Group, Inc.'s Work Plan, a municipal ground water
supply well is located 1,400 feet to the northwest of the site. Ground water extraction from that
well may be affecting the local ground water flow direction.
s The ground water elevation has decreased approximately 10-feet since 1986. This change in
water level may have affected the local ground water flow direction.
We recommend monitoring the ground water levels in the wells on a monthly basis for a period of
three (3) months to confirm the ground water flow direction. Once flow direction has been
confirmed, we will evaluate the data for appropriate next actions with respect to installation of
additional wells and corrective actions. The site will also be set up on a quarterly ground water
monitoring and sampling program. Additionally, we will research the use of the municipal well to
determine when the well is used and if it's use could affect the ground water flow at the Chevron
site.
Effective immediately, I will no longer be the Chevron Project Manager for the referenced site.
The new Project Manager and your contact for all future correspondence will be Mr. Brett Hunter.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Brett at (510) 842-8695.
Vry ly youUS.AODU
T
EV ON U JIC- MPANY
cy Vuke i
Site Assessme and Remediation Engineer
Enclosures
cc: Mr. Gordon Boggs, RWQCB-Central Valley
Mr. J.
