IL
L12,-June,1998
AOE-NC Project No. 98-039$
L (Castle Analytical Laboratory, Lab.No. 14$5 and American Environmental Network Client Project
I.D.No. 10666)and cliairi-of-custody fdrms are,included in Appendices B and.C.
5.4. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon data collected o b l4aitc 198,AfiE concludes the following:
• First encountered ground water is at 12 feet bsg.
Field evidence of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil was observed at depths between 12
and 20 feet bsg in the former UST pit area.
L • Grab ground water samples collected beneath the former UST area at the site(P1)detected
dissolved petroleum'hydrocarbons as TPH-g,etlylbenzene and xylenes
• Laboratory and field data suggest that residual petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil exists
only beneath the former UST areaat the site.
The State,of California drinking water standard's, adopted bythe Safe Drinking Water Act,
h
have established maximum contaminant levels(+1CLs)for ethyIbenene and"xylenes at 700.
ppb and-1,750-ppb,.respectively. Concentrations ofthe two compounds in the grab ground
Water sample collected from P1 were below the MCLS.
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from.the site,AGE recommends:
• , Performance
" r1rit - #vatradius of the site:
Based upon results of the receptor survey, the site may meet-with CVRWQC$guidelines as
j„ a"ld3 sate.and'may be considered by the PHS-EHD fc
7.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practiding'in this or similar localities. The findings were based mainly.
L upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/
hydrogeologic conditions at the site, for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited
number of available data points(i.e.grab ground water samples and soil samples) and subsurface
LAdiwncef GeoEnvironme tai Inc.
L _
