(Fugro), on behalf of Shell Oil Company, has been conducting utility vapor
monitoring and mitigation activities at the subject site since December 12, 1994. These activities
are performed in response to a release of gasoline from an underground storage tank on the site.
An interim soil vapor extraction and emission control system is currently in operation.
Handbailing of product (if any) from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-5, and RW-1 continues to
be performed by Fugro personnel almost daily.
Figure 1 shows locations of the utilities currently monitored with a field instrument. Table 1
presents the monitoring results.
Based on results presented in Table 1, we request approval to continue vapor monitoring of the
utilities twice a week for one month. The vapor monitoring frequency may be revised further
upon your approval.
We appreciate your interest in the site. Fugro and Shell will continue to update you on the
progress of this project. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at (916) 782-
2110. Thank you for your assistance. 1
Sincerely,
Sudhakar Talanki
Project Engineer
Attachments
cc: E.
