PHS/EHD does not anticipate that contamination
will be encountered as long as the excavations for the building
project are limited to 24 inches below grade . Groundwater at the
Shell site is currently about 9 to 10 feet below grade .
I have enclosed a site map and groundwater sample results from
monitoring well 4, which is located on the church' s property.
Shell is responsible for the remediation and third party
liability resulting from their release of petroleum hydrocarbons
to the soil and groundwater. If further information or
assurances are necessary, you can contact their representative,
Jeff Granberry at (510) 675-6172 .
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Enviiro'.n'Qm`e`n`t`'aal Health Division
.—
Marga et LagOrio REHS, Supervisor
Site Mitigation Unit
c : Shell Oil - Jeff Granberry
C : Father Moore - St .
