The soil was transported to Forward Landfill
for proper disposal. A new double-walled fuel dispensing and storage system has been installed
at the site. The former tank pit was backfilled with soil excavated from the new tank basin.
Access to and excavation of soil within the former tank pit was limited by caving of the
sidewalls, and the close proximity to the station building, dispenser island canopy, and property
boundaries. The former tank pit was vertically excavated at one sampling location to a total
depth of 24 feet below site grade, the maximum extendable depth of the backhoe.
Mitigation measures performed at the site consisted of separate phase petroleum
hydrocarbon recovery, soil vapor extraction, and soil excavation/disposal. To date, approximately
3,826 gallons of petroleum hydrocarbons have been removed from the site using various remedial
measures.
Copies of this report were submitted on your behalf to:
Ms. Mary Meays
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department
304 East Weber Street
Stockton, California 95201
A member of the Fugro group of companies with offices throughout the world
