SB-1 at concentrations of 8.7 and 2.4 pg/L, respectively. These concentrations are
below the respective MCL values for MTBE (13 pg/L) and xylenes (1,750 pg/L). Boring
SB-1 was completed at the northeast comer of the Property within approximately 100
feet of the nearby cross-to downgradient 7-11 gas station release site. High
concentrations of gasoline, MTBE and BTEX compounds have been detected in
groundwater at the 7-11 site.
The presence of MTBE and xylenes in groundwater at the northeast corner of the
Property are most likely attributed to the adjacent UST release sites, especially the
nearby 7-11 site, where high concentrations of gasoline compounds have been detected
in groundwater. No chemicals were detected in groundwater in the remaining three
borings on the Property, or in the two soil samples analyzed. Based on the Phase II
results, no evidence of an on-site source of MTBE or xylenes was found.
Recommendadon:
No further subsurface investigation is recommended for the Property at this time.
P:\PROJECTS\Safeway\L284\Stockton-103\1769_Pre-Gas_Rpt.doc
