HSI GEOTRANS <br /> STANDARD SAFETY <br /> PROCEDURES DURING DRILLING <br /> 1) Hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, shirt and full length pants and work <br /> shoes/boots are required for all personnel working with or near the rig. Tuck shirts <br /> at belt. <br /> 2) No eating,drinking or smoking is allowed near the rig if site has known of suspected <br /> contamination of soils or ground water. <br /> 3) Direct contact with contaminated or suspected contaminated surfaces should be <br /> avoided. <br /> 4) Tools, materials, cords, hoses or debris should be located so as not to cause <br /> tripping or to come into contact with moving rig parts. <br /> 5) Tools, materials and equipment subject to displacement or failing must be <br /> adequately secured. <br /> 6) Flammable materials must be stored free of ignition sources. Flammable liquids <br /> must be stored in an approved container. <br /> 7) All underground utility locations must be identified prior to drilling. <br /> 8) Maintain adequate clearance of drill from overhead transmission lines. Minimum <br /> clearance is 25 feet unless special permission is granted by utility company. Call <br /> local utility company for proper clearance. <br /> 9) Loose and frayed clothing, loose long hair, loose jewelry, rings or chains may not <br /> be wom while working.with rotating equipment. <br /> 10) Machinery must be shut down prior to repairs or lubrication (except parts that must <br /> be in motion for lubrication). <br /> 11) Mechanical equipment must be shut down prior to and during fueling operations. <br /> When refueling or transferring fuel, containers/equipment must be bonded. <br /> 12) Appropriate respiratory and personal protective equipment must be work when <br /> conditions warrant their use. <br /> 13) The drill rig, and any other machinery used, should be inspected daily by a <br /> competent, qualified individual. <br /> P.•W e�NM3apa13s-dAtl.sop <br />
