The
water sample will be collected using a disposable bailer or rod mounted groundwater sampler. The
t water sample will be inspected for the presence of floating product, petroleum sheen, discoloration, or
odor. The water sample will be decanted into two (2) I-Itr glass containers and two (2) 40-m1 VOA
vials for shipment to the laboratory. The samples will be stored in a cooler chilled with ice and
delivered within 24 hours of collection, under chain-of-custody procedures, to GeoAnalytical
' Laboratories in Modesto, California.
' 2.5 Laboratory Analysis
The soil and groundwater samples collected from the excavation will be analyzed for benzene,
' toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020 (602 for water), and for total
extractable petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel, kerosene, and motor oil (TEPH) by Method
N 3550/LUFT (3510 for water). The analytical methods and analytical detection limits are presented
below in Table 1.
' TABLE 1
Analytical Methods
' CONSTITUENT ..
