03/23/93 08:45 LOF GLASS LATHROP 007
Mr. G. Robert Meyer -3- 28 March 1986
Cleanup of a contaminant in the soil or ground water is required until that
contaminant no longer poses a threat to water quality. A general condition
which would be placed on any cleanup operation would be that the contaminant has
been reduced to the extent that it is no longer mobile. If your cleanup program
could ensure that this condition would be met, neither soil removal nor long-
term site maintenance would be required. If your cleanup program could not
remove the mobile contaminants, either of these actions may be necessary.
LOF has been honest, forthright, and cooperative in our dealings on these
matters and we appreciate your very responsible attitude toward maintaining and
protecting water quality. If I can be of assistance or if you have any
questions, please call me at (916) 324-8890.
JIM ECKMAN
Project Engineer
JLE:,jec `
cc: Mr. Brad Parsons, Toxic Substances Control Division Department of Health
Services, Sacramento
Mr. James Miller, San Joaquin Local Health District, Stockton
Mr. Thomas J.
