MONITORING AND REPORTING06GRAM NO. 5-01-114 -2- <br /> PILKINGTON NORTH AMERICA,INC. <br /> PILKINGTON GLASS FURNACE FACILITY <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> Groundwater samples shall be collected from each groundwater monitoring well in accordance with the <br /> approved Groundwater Monitoring Workplan. The groundwater monitoring program shall include the <br /> analyte list below. Sample collection and analysis shall follow standard EPA protocol. Each <br /> groundwater monitoring well shall be monitored at least for the following: <br /> Constituents Units Type of Sample Sampling Frequency Reporting Frequency <br /> Groundwater Elevation 0.01 feet Measurement Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Nitrate as Nitrogen mg/1 Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Total Dissolved Solids mg/I Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Total Coliform Organisms mg/l Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> pH pH units Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Standard Mineralst mg/1 Grab Annual Annual <br /> Trihalomethanes µg/1 Grab Annual' Annual <br /> Standard Minerals shall include the following compounds: Calcium,Magnesium,Sodium Chloride,Nitrate, Sulfate, <br /> Total Alkalinity(including alkalinity series),and Hardness. <br /> ' Trihalomethanes shall be analyzed in any year when chlorine is added to the wastewater storage pond. <br /> LAND APPLICATION AREAS MONITORING <br /> Inspections of the land application areas shall be conducted daily and the results shall be included in <br /> the monthly monitoring report. Evidence of erosion, field saturation, runoff, or the presence of <br /> nuisance condition shall be noted in the report. Wastewater shall also be monitored to ascertain <br /> loading rates at the disposal area. Monitoring of the land application area shall include the following: <br /> Constituent Units Type of Sample Sampling Frequency Reporting Frequency <br /> Total Flow Gallons Continuous Daily Monthly <br /> Flow to Each Field Gallons Continuous Daily Monthly <br /> Acreage Applied Acres Calculated Daily Monthly <br /> Application Rate gal/acre/day Calculated Daily Monthly <br /> Total Nitrogen lbs/month Calculated Monthly Monthly <br /> lbs/acre/day <br /> The application area to which wastewater is applied shall be identified. <br /> BIOSOLIDS MONITORING <br /> The Discharger shall keep records regarding the quantity of biosolids generated by the treatment <br /> processes, any sampling and analytical data, and the quantity of dried biosolids stored on site. The <br /> records shall also indicate that steps taken to reduce odor and other nuisance conditions. Records shall <br /> be stored onsite and available for review during inspections. <br /> If biosolids are transported off-site for disposal without co-composting, then the Discharger shall submit <br />
