Ge o lo ica(Technics Znc.
2741 River Road
M-&W,Cafxf—L-95351
(209)538-6424/faX#538-5852
Work Plan
Soil Investigation
r Arctic Ice
36 North D Street
Stockton, CA
Project No. 691.2
November 20, 1998
1.0 INTRODUCTION .
Geological Technics Inc. performed Phase I Environmental Site Assessment on this property
in.August 1998. During this assessment, it was discovered that two underground storage
tanks were located on this property That Arctic Ice did not know about. It was recommended
k
that these tanks be removed under County supervision and permit.
Geological Technics Inc. and Del-Tech Geotechnical Support: Services performed tank
closure, removal and soil sample collection work on October 15., 1998. Soil samples were
collected under the two underground storage tanks as directed by Letitia Briggs, REHS, the .
County inspector. The tests results show the following:
1. FUEL TANK — Located near the west entrance of the Quonset but building, TEPH-Diesel
r. was found below the fuel tank at a concentration of 3300 mg/kg. TPH-G, BTEX, and the
Oxygenated fuel compounds were not detected and lead was within expected
concentrations for native soils of this region.
2. WASTE OIL WANK —No contamination was found under the small waste oil tank located
south Quonset but and east of the fence/gate area.
2:0 PROPOSED INVESTIGATION
To investigate the vertical and lateral extent of soil impacted with diesel range petroleurn
hydrocarbons discovered during closure of the diesel tank, Geological Technics Inc. proposes
to drill three boreholes up to 45 feet deep. These boreholes will be.located near the former
diesel tank removed on October 15, 1998; on the northwest side of the property. Refer to
Figure 2: Site Map for well locations. One borehole will be drilled near the north end of.the
former tank, ,a second approximately 20 feet north of the former tank and the third
approximately 20 feet south of the former tank.
