i <br /> August 10, 1998 FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 E Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br /> RE Executive Summary <br /> Southland Store No 20632 <br /> 4627 DaVinci Drive <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> The following includes a summary of past environmental activities and proposed activates to be <br /> completed at the subject site <br /> Background <br /> The subject site is located on the west side of DaVinci Drive south of March Lane in Stockton <br /> (Attachment 1, Figure 1) The site is owned by the Soutland Corporation and currently contains three <br /> 10,000-gallon USTs and associated fuel dispensers <br /> On February 21, 1997, Fluor Daniel GTI supervised the advancement of six angled and four vertical <br /> geoprobe borings (GP-1 through GP-10) at the site (Attachment 1, Figure 2) Soil samples were <br /> collected from the borings at vertical depths of 5 feet to 15 feet below ground surface (BGS) The six <br /> angled borings (GP-1 through GP-6)were drilled beneath the three 10,000-gallon USTs at the site as <br /> required by the SJCPHS prior to tank-lining permit approval In addition, groundwater grab samples <br /> were collected from borings GP-1, GP-5, and GP-7 through GP-10 <br /> The highest benzene, methyl-tert-butyl ether(MTBE), and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline <br /> (TPH-G) concentrations in the soil samples collected from the borings drilled February 21, 1997, were <br /> reported in sample GP-3-5' at 0 44 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), 12 mglkg, and 150 mg/kg, <br /> respectively The highest benzene, MTBE, TPH-G concentrations in groundwater samples collected <br /> February 21, 1997, were reported in sample GP-1 at 390 micrograms per liter(pg/L), 16,000 pg/L, and <br /> 16,000 pg/L, respectively MTBE, which was reported in sample GP-8 at a concentration of 1,600 pg/L, <br /> 20632EXE LTR <br /> 757 Arnold Drive, Suite D /Martinez, CA 94553 USA (510) 370-3990 FAX (510) 370-3991 <br />
