16 September 1998 -
AGE-NC Project No:-95=01.97
• Fuel oxygenates including MTBE,tertiary-butyl alcohol(TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE),
ethyl tertiary=butyl ether(ETBE) and tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME) by EPA Method
8260; and .
Selected soil samples'may also be analyzed for intrinsic permeability, moisture content, porosity and
total organic carbon(TOC) in accordance with the appropriate EPA or ASTM methods.
Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/Quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in.a report.with
findings and recommendations.
2.3. MONITORING WELL COMPLETION
Each proposed soil boring will be tM1 8o_r eti4las ground water monitoring and soil vapor
extraction wells. The dual-completed wells-will be designed to monitor dissolved petroleum
hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water and characterize ground water flow direction and
gradient at the site. The wells will also accommodate an in-situ air sparging/vapor extraction pi lt
test. The results of the pilot test will be used to evaluate the feasibility of at least two re Medial
alternatives. Procedures for well completion are detailed in Section 3.2.
2.4. MONITORING WELL DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY
Following well installation, the well will be developed to.maximize water flow into the well and
minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn.into:the well during pumping or bailing.
Procedures for well and survey are presented in Section 3.3.
All wells at the site will also be surveyed by a licensed professional relative to a City of Stockton
benchmark to determine the elevation of.each casing.
2.5.' GROUND WATER SAMPLE'COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS _
Following the installation of the monitoring wells;one ground water monitoring and sampling event
will be conducted at the site..Ground water samples will be collected from the four site monitoring
wells(MW-1 through MW-4)and submitted for laboratory analysis. Groundwater_ samples will be
analyzed by a DTSC-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030;
Advanced GeoEnvironmeital,Inc.
