6
5.4 Soil Disposal
Soil generated as part of soil boring activities was temporarily stored on Site under plastic sheeting.
' The soil was transported to, and recycled at, American Remedial Technologies in Lynwood,
California on June 4, 2004. A copy of the soil disposal manifest has been attached in Appendix E.
' 6.0 CONCLUSIONS
Based on data collected during this investigation and past investigations, the following conclusions
have been made:
• The mass of soil which contains concentrations of TPH-d appears to be minimal and confined
to the area of soil sample D8-2.Soil samples collected from soil boring B 1,drilled and sampled
in the approximate location of soil sample D8-2,did not contain concentrations of TPH-d,TPH-
' g, BTEX or fuel oxygenates.
• Volatile petroleum hydrocarbon analytes such as benzene and fuel oxygenates were not detected
' in any of the soil samples analyzed as part of this investigation or in soil samples collected as
part of fuel system upgrade activities.
' 7.0 RECOMMENDATION
Based on the over-excavation of soil containing residual concentrations ofpetroleum hydrocarbons,
' from the immediate area beneath the east-central fuel dispenser, and additional site assessment
activities in this area, FREY recommends that a no further action letter be issued for the Site.
8.0 LIMITATIONS
The judgements described in this report are professional opinions based solely within the limits of
the scope of work authorized, and pertain to conditions judged to be present or applicable at the time
the work was performed. Future conditions may differ from those described herein, and this report
' is not intended for future evaluations of this Site unless an update is conducted by a consultant
familiar with environmental assessments.
' This report was compiled partially from information supplied to FREY Environmental, Inc. from
outside sources, other information that is in the public domain and a visual inspection of the
property. FREY Environmental, Inc. makes no warranty as to the accuracy of statements made by
' others, which may be contained in this report, nor are any other warranties or guarantees, expressed
or implied, included or intended by the report, except that it has been prepared in accordance with
the current accepted practices and standards consistent with the level of care and skill exercised
' under similar circumstances by other professional consultants or firms performing similar services.
tFREY
