• A soil sample collected from sample location GSB-1 at 5 feet bgs on 21
November 2013 would be labeled as follows: SS-GSB1-5-20131121;
• A groundwater sample collected from sample location GSB-1 on 21 November
2013 would be labeled as follows: GW-GSB-1-20131121
Quality assurance samples collected during this investigation will include equipment
blanks and duplicates. Equipment blank and duplicate samples will be labeled in the
field using `BB" for equipment blank and "D" for duplicate samples followed by the
data collected in a YYYYMT%MD (Year, Month, Day) format, then followed by a two-
digit number designating the sequence the blank was taken. An example of the
nomenclature for equipment blank samples is as provided below:
• An equipment rinsate blank sample collected on 21 November 2013 would be
labeled as follows: EB-20131121-01
• A duplicate sample collected on 21 November 2013 would be labeled as
follows: D-20131121-01.
4.6 Sample Packaging and Handling
As samples are collected in the field, they will be handled and placed into containers as
specified by the laboratory. The requested analytes for each sample will be included on
a completed sample COC form. The COC will include the sample identification,
location, date and time of the sampling, and the number and type of containers. Sample
documentation will be completed in the field, and the COC will accompany the samples
throughout transportation and analysis. Samples will be packed in ice chests containing
wet ice contained in double-bagged sealable plastic bags. Special care will be taken to
pack containers to minimize breakage.
4.7 Investi ation Derived Waste
Decontamination rinsate, soil cutting wastes, and waste water will be produced during
the Phase II ESA. Upon receipt of the soil and groundwater analytical results, soil will
be disposed either onsite (if no impacts are reported) or at an approved off-site waste
disposal facility by a licensed waste hauler(if impacts are reported).
4.8 Reporting
Following completion of field activities and receipt of laboratory analytical results,
Geosyntec will prepare a report summarizing findings from the current investigation,
conclusions, and recommendations. The report will include a detailed description of
20131115 Manteca Phase II Work Plan 9 11.15.2013
