This will determine if the bench scale testing is needed or if it can be skipped
and we could proceed directly to the pilot study.
Soil and groundwater samples will be obtained as described in the work plan dated August 16,
2004. These samples will be tested for the following type of analyses:
1. CAM 17 Metals: antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium (III and
VI), cobalt, copper, lead, mercury, molybdenum, nickel, selenium, silver, thallium,
vanadium, and zinc.
2. General Minerals: Nitrate, TKN, sulfate, total hardness, total alkalinity, Ca, Mg, Na, Fe,
Mn, P, K, hydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate, and chloride.
3. pH and EC.
4. The soil will be screened for particle size using standard sieve analysis methods.
After the soil and water analysis from a certified lab, the results will be submitted to Mr. Angus
E. McGrath, Principal Geochemist of SECOR International Incorporated for his evaluation.
Mr. Angus will prepare a report that will include an analysis of the metal concentrations,
compilation of results from other studies, comparison of those results to the soil data (George's
service soil data), discussion of the factors limiting the effectiveness of the chemical oxidation.
Geological Technics will submit a complete report within three weeks after receiving the report
from SECOR International Incorporated, which will include the required objectives. If you
have any questions regarding this addendum, please contact me at 209-522-4119.
Thank you:
t!_
Mandeep Singh l r
rr
Project Engineer ` .
