The AS wells
will be constructed similar to air sparge wells AS-1, AS-2 and AS-3, using 1.0 inch diameter PVC
casing with flush threads. The sparge point will consist of a 5-foot long fine screened interval
designed to produce fine bubbles with maximum surface area. A #12 sand filter pack will
surround and extend 1 foot above and below the sparge point. A three-foot transition seal will be
installed above the sand pack by adding weighted bentonite pellets. A surface seal will be
achieved by pumping a neat cement grout (augmented with < 4% bentonite) via a tremie tube.
The tops of the wells will be provided with an injection wellhead.
Soil Sampling
Select soil samples will be collected in 6.0-inch brass liners using a 2.0-inch modified California
split spoon sampler. All soil samples will be sealed with Teflon, capped with plastic end caps,
labeled and placed in a cooler at 4° Celsius for transport to a California certified laboratory under
Chain of Custody procedures. Since all three (3) wells will be installed within the excavation
backfill, soil samples will be collected for laboratory analysis and lithology at depths beneath the
bottom of the excavation. These soil samples will be analyzed for TPH-g& BTEX constituents by
EPA method 8260B.
I have attached the laboratory results from the January 2013 and May 2013 groundwater sampling
events. In addition I attached Table 1 with the added units.
Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Andrew Dorn
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc.
6Geological Technics
1172 Kansas Ave
Modesto,CA 95351
(209)522-4119
andrewd@gtienv.com
gti@atienv.com
5/21/2013
