This case does not meet all of the required criteria of the Policy.
Highlights of the case follow:
This Site is an inactive auto service business. An unauthorized release was reported in March
1989 followed by the removal of two gasoline UST in January 1990 and one waste oil UST in
April 1990. Approximately 500 cubic yards of impacted soil were excavated to a depth of 8 feet
below ground surface (bgs) and disposed offsite in July 2001. Soil vapor extraction and air
sparging have been operated since August 2012. Since 1995, 17 groundwater monitoring and
ten remediation wells have been installed and monitored. According to groundwater data, water
quality objectives have been achieved or nearly achieved except in source area well MW-2.
The petroleum release is limited to the soil and shallow groundwater. According to data
available in GeoTracker, there is one public water supply wells within 1,000 feet of the Site.
Three domestic water supply wells lie within 250 feet of the Site and have been found not to
contain fuel hydrocarbons. No surface water bodies lie within 1,000 feet of the Site. The
unauthorized release is not located within the service area of a public water system, as defined
in the Policy.
FELICIA MARCUS, CHAIR I THOMAS HOWARD, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
1001 1 Street,Sacramento,CA 95814 1 Melling Address:P.O.Bat 100,Sacramento,Ce 05812-0100 I Wwwwaterboards.ca.gov
01 RECYCLED PAPER
