The surrounding land use is mixed residential, commercial and agricultural.
Site History/Assessments
In January 1990, soil contamination was identified during the removal of USTs. To date, 16
monitoring wells have been installed and monitored regularly. A Site map showing the location
of the former USTs, monitoring wells and groundwater level contours is provided at the end of
this five year summary.
Remediation Summary
• Free Product: Free product noted in MW-2. None noted since 1998
• Soil Excavation: An estimated 500 cubic yards of impacted soil was removed and
disposed offsite in 2001, estimated to have removed 4,900 pounds of TPHg.
• In-Situ Soil/ Groundwater Remediation: Soil vapor extraction and air sparging has been
proposed
General Site Conditions
• Geology and Hydrogeology: The Site is underlain by interbedded and intermixed gravel,
sand, silt and clay. The depth to groundwater at approximately 13 feet bgs and the
groundwater gradient is north at approximately 0.002 ft/ft.
• Estimate of Hydrocarbon Mass in Soil: Prior to remediation, GTI estimated that
approximately 5,275 kg of TPHg remained in site soils. In 2010, GTI estimated that
approximately 3,060 pounds of TPHg.
• Groundwater Trends: There are more than 16 years of groundwater monitoring data for
this Site. Benzene trends are shown below, near source area (MW-2) and down
gradient (MW-7)
BENZENE Results for MW-2
Boon
aw
g® a
mw lw7't 1
oo
rood01
p
w BENZENE - -Trend
FBENZENE Results for MW.7
OB
03
0.3
oe,.
o., 7 7 7 ® Win_
I --BENZENE Trend
