GeofogicaCTecFmus Inc Page 4 _ <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Project No 425 2 <br /> February 17,2000 <br /> Before a sample was collected, the well's water level was allowed to recharge to at least 80% <br /> of its initial level All water removed from the monitoring wells and not used as a sample, <br /> was placed in a 55 gallon DOT (Department of Transportation 17-11) approved container that <br /> is properly labeled and temporally stored on-site <br /> A stainless steel bailer was used to collect each sample Bailer cleanliness was assured by <br /> collecting a bailer blank (pouring distilled water through the bailer and collecting it in a VOA <br /> vial) prior to collecting the analytical sample <br /> Extreme care was exercised while collecting samples to prevent agitation of the water <br /> contained in the bailer Water samples were transferred from the bailer into 40-m1 VOA vials <br /> preserved with hydrochloric acid using a bottom-emptying device that minimizes sample <br /> aeration during transfer of the sample All samples were checked for headspace bubbles, <br /> labeled, inserted into foam holders and placed in an ice chest cooled to 4°C for transport to <br /> the laboratory <br /> The sampling technician wore disposable gloves while collecting all samples <br /> A chain of custody document, listing all samples collected and their intended analyses, <br /> accompanied the samples from field to the laboratory, thereby providing a means to track <br /> their movement and insure their integrity <br /> During the September 1, 1999 event, groundwater samples were not collected from the <br /> domestic well located at 31448 Hwy 33 due to a dog that was chained near the pump house <br /> and would not allow the sampling technician to approach During the December 22, 1999 <br /> event, Carol Oz of SJC PHS/EHD decided it was not necessary to sample the domestic well <br /> located at 1600"B" Durham Ferry Road, as this well was non-detect dunng the September <br /> tsampling <br /> 1.3 Laboratory Analyses <br /> ' The groundwater samples collected on September 1, 1999 were delivered to BSK Labs <br /> (Department of Health Services Certification No 1180), of Fresno, California, for analysis <br /> The samples were analyzed using the following methods <br /> • EPA method 602 —BTEX <br /> • EPA method 602 --MTBE <br /> • EPA method 5030/8015(m) - TPH-Gasoline <br /> ' The groundwater samples collected on December 22, 1999 were delivered to BSK Labs of <br /> Fresno, California, for analysis However, due to time constraints and a heavy workload, <br />
