The Code of Federal Regulations, 40
CFR 112, requires that the facility maintain a Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures(SPCC)plan
that adheres to the industry standard requirements for regular inspections. The Steel Tank Institute (STI)
SP001 Standard requires that the aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) be formally inspected based on the
category of the AST.
Next Inspection Schedules
STI SP001 recommends the interval to the next inspection be determined based on known tank category
and volume. This 10,000 gallon tank is currently equipped with a spill control system in the form of a berm
secondary containment. The tank has an inherent continuous release detection method (CRDM)in the form
of an elevated tank on saddle supports. The tank stores diesel fuel at ambient temperature. Based on the
current configuration, the tank is classified as Category 1. Per inspection interval definitions outlined in STI
SP001, PEI recommends the following inspection schedule:
• An out-of-service, internal inspection inspection is not required.
• A leak test in accordancewith STI SP001 is not required.
• An external, in-service inspection should be scheduled no more than 20 years from the current
inspection date or sooner if a change in tank condition occurs. However, more stringent governing
regulatory intervals of inspection may supersede this interval.
Required Repairs for Continued Service
1. No required repairs for continued service is required for Tank Diesel Fuel.
Considerations or Recommended Repairs
2. There is a minor product stain on the 2 Yin top size nozzle. Clean the area around the nozzle and
monitor the condition of the nozzle. Repair as necessary.
3. Consider installing grounding cables per NFPA 30 Section 6.5.4.
4. Rust and coating failure was identified on all threaded and flanged connections, consider applying touch
up coatings to these areas.Monitorthe condition ofthe coatings and applytouch up coatings as needed
to prevent corrosion damage to the shell, ends, piping, and appurtenances.
5. Minor crackswere identified in the concrete containment which could hinder the containments ability to
contain product. Consider sealing the concrete cracking in the concrete dike
Non-Mandatory Items
6. This tank is equipped with threaded components and piping, which are known to develop seeps.
Monitor these areas during monthly and annual inspections.
STAWIMDV YAGRS:LL MSEMJ STM DESELMELMDV YA MW Page UNePnMGBlY1S
OAIBPHI.
