r
.I
included..in our.problem assessment report which EMCON'is presently preparing.
I would like to transport these two, drums of water to our Sacramento Shop at 8833
Kiefer Blvd. where we have a waste water recycle system for washing equipment which
.could remove the TPH and BTEX contamination. The waste water recycle system
consists of an inclined plate seperator with polymer injection for seperating oils, fuels and
silt and an activated carbon filter for removing residual TPH and BTEX constituents. The
oil/fuel fraction is disposed of as waste:oil',through Evergreen Environmental 'and the
spent activated carbon filters are regenerated by the supplier, Westates Carbon. Since
it is'a recycle system it is a closed loop system, i.e., no water is discharged. The system
has' a capacity of 4,000 gallons and we normally process 2,000 gallons of waste water
peri day. The addition.of 110 gallons to thesystem would be insignificant.
Also, per Steve Schneider's request on 10-13-92 we have -installed locking
expansion plugs in the open vapor extraction pipes and in MWA.
Please let me know if this proposal.meets with your approval so that we can begin
ouremedial work as soon as possible. If.you have any questions please feel free to
contact me at 916-386-6916. Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely yours,
4
George Takemori
'Equipment Administrator
4
STK24
