GEORGE TAKEMORI
PAGE 2
:,wells at the site. Should fate and transport calculations or a computer model be
used for this site, all assumptions used should be tabulated and the values
justified. If practicable, all input parameters that can be gathered from the site
should be collected.
','Please be advised that a California Water Service site for a future municipal well
is located approximately 1000 feet to the east of this site on "F" Street. This
future well site must be considered when assessing future impacts of the plume
on groundwater users.
.Physical data supported by sufficient discussion should be presented to validate
'the opinion that natural biodegradation is occurring and is an effective remedial
alternative for this site. Several "lines of evidence" of biodegradation and/or
Bother natural attenuation processes should be presented, if possible. Graphing
groundwater contaminant and water table elevation changes over time may be
helpful.
The information discussed above should be submitted to PHS-EHD for
consideration for closure. A closure recommendation is warranted if the
information indicates current and future beneficial uses of groundwater are
protected.
Also, please initiate sampling for methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE)'in
;groundwater starting with the next quarterly event.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter in more detail, please
contact Linda Turkatte, Senior RENS, at (209) 468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
' Environmental Health Division
7a
Linda A.
