Rob Lindeman FFRMIT/SERVICES
Subject: PROPOSAL FOR SOIL MLORATORY SOIL BORING AND INSSALLATION
OF GROUND WATER MONITORING WELL
Dear Mr. Lindeman:
molde
J.H. Kleinfer is
Of four explorldeatorPleased to submit this proposal for the drilling
y soil borings and the installation of a ground water
nitoring well at the Teichert facility located at 103 [north E Street,
Stockton, California. The purpose of the soil borings is to provide
information for a preliminary assessment of the horizontal and vertical
extent of soil contamination apparently caused by an underground gasoline
storage tank that has been removed. The purpose of the groundwater
monitoring well is to provide information concerning depth to ground water
and the possibility of ground water contamination. The scope of services
presented below is based on conversation with the San Joaquin Department
Of Health Services and our knowledge of the site.
SCOPE OF WORK
Our scope of work will consist of drilling, logging and sampling one
initial soil boring. Based on results of field screening of the initial
boring for petroleum hydrocarbons, four additional borings would be
drilled, with one of the soil borings being completed as a monitoring
well. J.H. Kleinfelder will select the monitoring well location at an
I anticipated down-gradient location and install through uncontaminated soil
to avoid artificial contamination of the underlying ground water. Soil
samples will be collected at 5 foot intervals in each boring and screened
in the field for the presence of volatile hydrocarbons. Based on field
screening, selected samples will be delivered to a State a
PProved
