Post <br /> This letter is in response to your request for GHH <br /> Engineering to Provide site investigation services at the <br /> ^�.ibl-ol, site . <br /> G1111 Engineering, Inc . was contacted on November 7, 1983 by <br /> Po `t a Co , to conduct soil sampling following the removal of <br /> an 8 , 000-gallon diesel tank at the subject site . Mr . Ed <br /> Childers was present for the tank removal which took place <br /> Nol7e_mber 9, ] 9% 8 . However, due to the presence of a concrete <br /> pad at the bottom of the excavation and lack of equipment to <br /> cut through the concrete, the sampling was postponed . Ms . <br /> Fleidi Hubbard was present for the sampling which took place <br /> on November 15, 1988 . Mr . Harlan Knowle of the San Joaquin <br /> COLinty Environmental Health Department was also present to <br /> dirWC;L sample acquisition . <br /> Fr . Knowle requested five confirmation samples, three from <br /> the excavation and two from the product line . At the time of <br /> the sampling, the concrete pad had been cored in three places <br /> to allow access to the soil . Sampling was accomplished using <br /> a drive sampler at the locations shown on the attached <br /> figa.2re . The samples were transported under chain of custody <br /> -c, the laboratories of American Environmental Management <br /> Corporation and analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons <br /> (T-P11 ) and Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl benzene, and Xylenes <br /> (BIF El X } . <br /> The analytii—!al results indicate levels of TPH and BTEX below <br /> rcpDr t ;.ng limits with the exception of the sample taken at <br /> the end of the excavation . This sample showed levels of <br /> ;3t or s_l -ight:ly above reporting limits . Copies of the <br /> inti r ,_zsults are attached _ At this time, further investigation <br /> lEf�.t anticipated .
