Page I of 2
Mike Infurna [EH ]
From : Margaret Lagorio [EH]
Sent: Monday , July 14, 2008 4 : 13 PM
To : Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE : spreading drill cuttings
Mike ,
If they want to spread it, then they will have to get an exemption or permit from air pollution and provide a work
plan that provides a grid for sampling the spread out soil by October 2008 , and states that if those sample results
come back with contaminants they will haul the soil to an approriate disposal facility.
Margaret
From : Mike Infurna [EH ]
Sent: Monday, July 14, 2008 11 : 54 AM
To: Margaret Lagorio [EH]
Subject: spreading drill cuttings
I received a written request from ATC to spread ~40 cubic yards of drilling
cuttings onsite .
Lab data indicates 28 of 40 monitoring well soil samples had hits of TPHd & g ,
plus BTEX , MtBE and Tame , TBA . No 1 , 2- DCA analyzed (against my work
plan conditional approval ) . I have no gw data for the wells yet.
highest TPHd = 34 mg/kg
if TPHg = 1000 mg/kg
go B = 0 . 092
go T = 2 . 8
if E = 21
X = 119
MtBE = 14
Tame = 0 . 14
TBA = 55
DTW in the spreading area is low . . . .visually , it's BELOW the DTW in the delta
and shows up at around 1 . 5 feet bgs in the casings here . . . . They claim a & inch
soil spread very close to the trailers will volatilize the resisdual COCs . . . .
I can 't use the Leaching Potential in the LUFT because < 5' to gw it says DO
NOT USE this table . .
I want to deny , . .
you have any problems with this .
7/16/2008
