6c�' <br /> 0 \EJ 1-I(:: <br /> A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br /> Summary Report of <br /> Subsurface Investigation <br /> King Island Resort <br /> 11530 West Eight Mlle Road <br /> Stockton, California <br /> ATC Project No 54 62514 0001 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> tATC Associates Inc has prepared this report, on behalf of Westrec Properties to summarize <br /> findings of the supplemental subsurface investigation performed at King Island Resort, 11530 West <br /> Eight Mile Road, Stockton, California(Figure l) <br /> 1.1 Site Location <br /> The site is located north of Disappointment Slough and east of Honker Cut, in Stockton, <br /> California, as shown on Figure 1 The location is a small commercial area surrounded by <br />' agriculture in all directions The site is currently occupied by King Island Resort <br /> 1_2 Background <br /> The King Island property previously contained three underground storage tanks (USTs) The <br /> tanks consisted of one 6,000-gallon regular, one 2,000-gallon regular, and one 4,000-gallon <br /> diesel tank The USTs have been removed and replaced with one split aboveground storage tank <br /> (AST) containing premium gasoline and regular gasoline <br /> 1 In March 1989, hydrocarbon impacted soil was detected to the east of the restaurant building <br /> during a geotechnical investigation by Kleinfelder, Inc In April 1989, two shallow borings were <br /> advanced and soil samples were collected from depths of 3 to 5 feet below ground surface (bgs), <br /> and grab groundwater samples were also collected from the borings Elevated concentrations of <br /> total petroleum hydrocarbons and benzene were detected in soil and groundwater <br /> On August 19, 1989, diesel fuel was discovered leaking from a product line between the <br /> buildings and the backside of the levee The diesel fuel line was purged, capped, and removed <br /> A new diesel fuel line and gasoline fuel line were installed and placed above ground <br /> Approximately 40 cubic yards of petroleum affected peat were excavated and removed by <br /> Falcon Energy, and replaced with sandy loam backfill <br />' W 1625141reporislsup_sub_inv doe ] <br />
