v <br /> 0 <br /> A s s O C I A T E 5 1 N C <br /> ti <br /> 2_3 Groundwater Monitorins Well Construction <br />' Soil boring MW7 was subsequently completed as a groundwater monitoring well to assess the <br /> extent of impacted groundwater, if any, beneath the site <br />' The well was constructed with 2-inch diameter PVC casing a to depth of 30 feet b s The <br /> p g <br /> screened interval of the well was positioned from approximately 5 feet above to 15 feet below <br /> the encountered water table to allow for seasonal water level fluctuations The well was secured <br /> with a traffic rated utility box and a pad lock The well construction details are depicted on the <br /> well log contained in Appendix A <br />' 2.4 Monitorinji Well Development <br /> tGroundwater monitoring well MW7 was developed on April 6, 2001 The well was purged until <br /> the extracted water was relatively sediment free Development/purge logs are included in <br />' Appendix C Purge water was temporarily stored on site in 55-gallon drums After water levels <br /> were allowed to stabilize, groundwater levels were obtained from all monitoring wells <br /> Groundwater levels were taken on April 6, 2001, utilizing an electronic water probe capable of <br /> measuring with an accuracy of 1/100 of a foot Groundwater elevation data are presented in <br /> Table 2 <br /> 2_5 Groundwater Sampling and Analysis <br /> On April 6, 2001, groundwater samples were collected from wells MWI, MW2, MW3, MW4R, <br />' MW5, MW6, and MW7 The samples were collected after purging a minimum of three well <br /> volumes and stabilization of electncal conductivity, pH, and temperature Purge logs are <br /> presented in Appendix C Subsequent to purging, groundwater was sampled and transferred to <br />' appropriate sample containers, using a clean, disposable bailer with a bottom-emptying device to <br /> reduce volatilization Sample containers were then labeled with sample identification, placed on <br /> ice, and shipped under chain-of-custody to Argon Laboratories <br />' The groundwater samples from monitoring wells MW I, MW2, MW3, MW4R, MW5, MW6, and <br /> MW7 were analyzed by Argon Laboratories for TPHg, TPHd, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, <br />' xylenes (BTEX) and MTBE Monitoring well MW7 was further analyzed for oxygenate fuel <br /> additives Groundwater analytical results are summarized in Table 3, and laboratory data sheets <br /> are presented in Appendix B <br />' W 162514Veportslsup_sub_rnv doc 4 <br />
