• Site Background Information <br /> HERMAN AND HELEN'S MARINA <br /> 15135 Eight Mile Road, Stockton, California <br /> The property is currently occupied by Herman and Helen's Manna, which consists of multiple <br /> floating structures on the Little Connection Slough as well as a couple surface buildings and a large <br /> asphalt parking lot Currently, two 12,000-gallon above ground storage tanks are in use at the site <br /> One tank contains gasoline, the second is compartmentalized into one 5,000-gallon gasoline tank, <br /> one 3,000-gallon gasoline tank,one 3,000-gallon diesel tank and one 1,000-gallon oil tank The tanks <br /> are connected to dispensers by piping contained in a concrete-lined trench <br /> REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The property is situated within the Great Valley Gcomorphic Province of California, a large, <br /> elongate, northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough The Great Valley Province has been <br /> filled with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent,creating a nearly flat- <br /> lying alluvial plain,extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains <br /> in the north The western and eastern boundaries of this province are the California Coast Range and <br /> the Sierra Nevada, respectively Rocks composing the basement complex of the province have not <br /> been completely defined but are believed to be of metamorphic and igneous origins The northern <br /> and southern portions of the Great Valley Province have been designated the Sacramento and San <br /> Joaquin Valleys, respectively <br /> The Modesto, Riverbank and Turlock Lake Formations and overlying recent alluvium are the <br /> principal source of domestic ground water in the 13,500-square-mile San Joaquin Valley Ground <br /> Water Basin (Basin 5-22) This basin is drained primarily by the San Joaquin River The nearest <br /> surface water feature in the vicinity of the property is the Little Connection Slough immediately west <br /> of the subject property Ground water is considered to be of beneficial use and is used for domestic, <br /> industrial and commercial purposes <br /> UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> On 30 October 1991,three underground storage tanks(USTs)were removed from the site by Warren <br /> E Gomes Excavating,Inc Although no groundwater was encountered,the bottom of the tanks were <br /> rusted Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) and <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) were detected in soil samples collected <br /> from the UST excavation at depths between 9 feet and 12 feet below surface grade (bsg), at <br /> maximum concentrations of 4,800 milligrams/kilogram (mg/kg) TPH-g, 37 mg/kg benzene, 93 <br /> mg/kg ethylbenzene and 500 mg/kg xylenes in sample TK2-N and 350 mg/kg toluene in TNI-N <br /> Lead was detected in samples TN1-S and TN2-N and the soil pile at 7 mg/kg, 10 mg/kg and 11 <br /> • Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc <br />
