INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr Andrew Smith of Herman & Helen's Manna, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Additional Soil and Ground Water Investigation
Report for 15135 Eight Mile Road, Stockton, California The scope of work included advancement
of three soil probe borings and the collection and analysis of soil and ground water samples The site
and the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1 Structures, monitoring wells and sampling
locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Background information is summarized in Appendix A Soil
and ground water analytical data from the current and previous investigations can be found in
Tables 1 through 6
2.0. PROCEDURES
On 22 and 23 October 2002, three soil borings were advanced at the site to assess the vertical and
lateral down-gradient extent of MTBE-impacted ground water The field work was conducted as
outlined in the AGE-prepared Work Plan Addendum - September 2002, dated 18 September 2002
and approved by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)by letter
dated 25 September 2002 Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the
CVRWQCB for the investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) sites
21 DRILLING
Soil probe borings B11, B12 and B13 were advanced utilizing a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400
equipped with 1 125-inch diameter probe rods with an attached 2 15-inch diameter soil sampler,
using"direct push"technology The probe borings were advanced vertically to depths ranging from
26 feet to 46 feet below surface grade (bsg)
22 SOIL SAMPLING
Soil samples were collected continuously from the borings at 4-foot intervals, beginning at 2 feet bsg
in boring B 13 and 10 feet bsg in borings B 11 and B 12 Continuous soil samples were retrieved using
a Geoprobe four-foot macro core barrel loaded with one four-foot acetate sleeve Soil samples were
preserved by covering both ends of a separated, 6-mch portion of the acetate sleeve with Teflon
sheets, capping, and sealing with tape Then each sample sleeve was labeled with soil probe boring
location, depth, time, date and sampler's initials
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
