The monitor wells will be used to
determine the groundwater gradient and flow direction and to monitor groundwater contaminant
concentrations (TPH-G, BTEX, MTBE, and TEPH). The monitor wells should be monitored
on a quarterly basis for at least one year.
In addition, the site should be evaluated in accordance with the Standard Guide for Risk Based
Corrective Action (RBCA) ASTM E1739-95 to determine if the site warrants closure or active
remediation, based on the potential threat to human health. Risk based screening levels should be
reviewed and contaminant transport pathways, and exposure pathways should be assessed. The
adjacent agricultural property and the river should be assessed for potential impact. Fate and transport
modeling for contaminant migration within the vadose zone and the groundwater should be conducted.
The results of the previous chemical analyses and geotechnical testing may be used in the fate
transport modeling. Based on the results of the groundwater monitoring, fate and transport analyses
and the exposure assessment, site closure will be requested, if warranted.
