Smith, President <br /> Herman & Helen's Marina <br /> Venice Island Ferry <br /> Stockton CA 95219 <br /> Dear Mr. Smith: <br /> UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK CLEANUP FUND PROGRAM, NOTICE OF <br /> PENDING LETTER OF COMMITMENT: CLAIM NO. 008531 <br /> This is to notify you that we recently completed the detailed review of your application and it <br /> has been determined that your claim is eligible for reimbursement from the Underground <br /> Storage Tank Cleanup Fund. Our next step in the claims process is to issue a Letter of <br /> Commitment (LOC). We request claimant's spend $10,000 before submitting a <br /> reimbursement request. Our review indicated that you had not spent that amount as of this <br /> date. <br /> We are prepared to issue an LOC committing money toward the reimbursement of your <br /> eligible cleanup costs once you have incurred the $10,000 or are obligated (signed contract) <br /> and are diligently pursuing your cleanup effort. You must take positive, concrete steps to <br /> ensure that corrective action is proceeding with all due speed. <br /> o If you have not started your cleanup effort, you must obtain three bids and sign a <br /> contract with one of these bidders. If you need assistance with the bidding process, <br /> selection of the low bidder, or desire pre-approval of the costs before proceeding with <br /> the work, please contact George Lockwood at (916) 227-4424. <br /> 0 If your cleanup effort has already started and was delayed, you must resume the <br /> expenditure of funds to ensure that your cleanup is proceeding in an expeditious <br /> manner. You are reminded that you must comply with all regulatory agency time <br /> schedules and requirements. <br /> In addition, you must submit a written update explaining: (1) status of cleanup to date; (2) <br /> costs incurred to date for cleanup; and (3) status and amount of any contractual obligations for <br /> further work or reason(s) why a contract for work has not yet been obtained. <br />
