141 North El Dorado
Page 2
Fugro correspondence dated April 25, 1994 indicated, in addition to the air
sparging system, that MW3 would be plumbed to the vapor extraction
system. The diagrams included iri the most recent Fugro correspondence;
however, did not indicate that MW3 would be plumbed to the vapor
extraction system. Regardless of.'the proposed modifications to the vapor
extraction system, PHS/EHD believes that the air sparging system which is
proposed will further increase :the amounts of hydrocarbons which are
captured with the vapor extraction system. PHS/EHD strongly
recommends that the combination of air sparging and vapor extraction be
considered when sizing the vapor;extraction treatment unit.
PHS/EHD also has been informed by Fugro, that concerns exist regarding the integrity of
the current sewer connection plumbing. - When the air sparging and vapor extraction
plumbing modifications are made; a new sewer connection constructed of two inch cast
iron piping will be installed;
If you have any questions, comments or wish to schedule a site inspection, please contact
Mary Meays at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior REHS Diane M.
