John Weber
Page 2
In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the vapor extraction system, soil sampling occurred
in September 1992. The results of the analysis of soil borings, CB1 - CB9 indicated that soil
contaminants are still present, at levels which may continue to act as a source of
contamination to groundwater. Additional soil remediation and further confirmation soil
sampling will be necessary.
Please plan by June 30, 1993 to either resume vapor extraction or submit an addendum to
the Soil and Groundwater Remediation Plans proposing an alternate method of soil
remediation.
Groundwater extraction and discharge to the City of Stockton sanitary sewer began on
March 2, 1993. During the operating period through April 27, 1993, 643,729 gallons of
groundwater were extracted and discharged. In future quarterly reports, please graph
analytical results from monitoring well samples and discharge water samples,. in order to
correlate the affect groundwater extraction may have on groundwater contamination levels.
If you have any questions, comments or wish to schedule a site inspection, please contact
Mary Meays, Senior REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0337:
Jogi Khanna, .D., M.P.H.
HeaIth Of ' er
Y aurie A.
