El Dorado IN REPLY REFER TO SITE CODE: 2436 <br /> Stockton, CA <br /> Please be advised that this office has reviewed the November 12, <br /> 1990 , Preliminary Assessment Report prepared by <br /> Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton (formerly Leedshill-Herkenhoff) . Laboratory <br /> analysis of soil samples indicates that soil contamination exists <br /> in the area of the former underground tank excavation (soil boring <br /> SB3) and to the east of the excavation (SB4) . The depth of <br /> contamination extends to a depth of at least 36. 5 feet below <br /> surface. The extent of soil contamination, north of the pump <br /> island, and groundwater contamination, has not yet been defined. <br /> In a meeting on January 3 , 1991, your consultant, Gerry Nakano of <br /> Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton, proposed re-excavation to remove residual on <br /> site soil contamination. A draft Remedial Action Plan for soil <br /> contamination will be submitted to San Joaquin County, Public <br /> Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and to the <br /> Central Valley California Regional Water Quality Control Board by <br /> February 1, 1991. <br /> Pursuant to Section 280. 67, Subpart F of 40CFR of the Federal <br /> Register, (PHS/EHD) , will conduct a public notice to consider <br /> comments on your Final Remedial Plan/Corrective Action Plan. <br /> Please prepare an Executive Summary of your draft Final Remedial <br /> Plan (FRP) to accompany our public notice by February 1, 1991. The <br /> draft FRP should provide a summary of: <br /> -data obtained during the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility <br /> Study <br /> -identifiable remedial alternatives <br /> -risks associated with conditions at the site, as well as <br /> risks with the identifiable alternatives <br /> -the proposed and implemented remedial alternatives. <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br />
