Department of Toxic Substancesdontrof
Edwin F. Lowry, Director n({ D oa
8800 Cal Center Drive Int v
Winston H. Weber Avenue, Room 350
Stockton, California 95202
NO FURTHER ACTION FOR THE WEBER BLOCK (DEAN DeCARLI) PROPERTY
On March 17, 2000, the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) approved the
Preliminary Endangerment Assessment (PEA) for the Weber Block Property bounded by EI
Dorado Street, Channel Street, Center Street, and Weber Avenue in Stockton, California.
Recommendations in the PEA called for a deed restriction to be filed on the property to
prohibit specific land use activities. This recommendation was necessary since
contaminants posed an unacceptable risk to residential activities.
DTSC worked with your agency to prepare the deed restriction language. The final
language in the deed restriction was submitted to your agency under DTSC's cover letter
dated November 1, 2002. The deed was then recorded by the County Recorders office
(DOC # 2002-196806) on November 4, 2002.
Based upon this action, DTSC finds that the site does not appear to pose a risk to human
health or the environment. Therefore, DTSC has determined that No Further Action is
necessary with respect to investigation and remediation of hazardous substances at the
subject property. The No Further Action status for the property applies to any further
involvement by DTSC. As with any property, if previously unidentified contamination is
discovered on the property, additional assessment, investigation, and/or remediation may
be required.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Mr. Jerry Lile at
(916) 255-3744 or by via e-mail at Jlileadtsc.ca.gov.
Sincerely,
Jim es L. old, P.E., Chief
Northern California-Central Cleanup Operations Branch
The energy challenge facing California is real. Every Californian needs to take immediate action to reduce energy consumption.
For a list of simple ways you can reduce demand and cut your energy costs, see our Web-site at www.dtsc.ca.gov.
® Printed on Recycled Paper,
