Presented below are comments
concerning the letter requesting suspension of quarterly groundwater monitoring, and the ozone
injection bench scalepilot study. The EHD will comment concerning the ozone injection feasibility
pilot study work plan after the report of findings has been submitted from the ozone bench-scale
study.
i
AGE has. requested a suspension of quarterly groundwater monitoring at your site due to delays in
reimbursment from the Underground Storage Tank.(UST) Cleanup Fund and has stated that a status
report will be submitted quarterly instead of a quarterly groundwater monitoring report. The EHD
understands the problems resulting from the current economic status of the Cleanup Fund; however,
considering the high concentrations of chemicals of concern detected in groundwater at your site, the
EHD does not consider total suspension of groundwater sampling adequate for proper plume
management. The EHD does not approve the total suspension of sampling of all wells, as proposed
by AGE. Instead, the EHD approves the following sampling schedule.
r
• Collect groundwater samples semiannually from monitoring wells MW-1A, MW-2A,
MW-2B, and MW-3A.
• Collect groundwater samples annually from monitoring wells MW-1B, MW-3B, MW-4,
MW-5,MVS-6, and MW-7.
As 1,2=dibromoethane (EDB) has not been detected in any groundwater samples collected at your
site, the EHD approves the removal of EDB from the analytical list.
t
