i <br /> Den's Auto Repair Page 3 <br /> 308 South El Dorado Street April 1,2009 <br /> Stockton,California 95203-3404 <br /> In addition to the analyses listed above for soil and groundwater,include analysis for the following: <br /> acetone, dissolved iron, dissolved manganese, dissolved arsenic, bromide, bromate, tertiary-butyl <br /> alcohol(TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary methyl ether(ETBE), tertiary-amyl methyl <br /> ether(TAME),ammonia,nitrogen,nitrite, orthophosphate,and sulfide. <br /> Some of the analyses for metals'can not be performed using method 200.8 as proposed in the <br /> bench-scale work plan; also method 218.6 for"analysis of chromium IV has a.holding time of <br /> twenty-four hours: To achieve a twenty-eight-day holding time;the groundwater must be filtered in <br /> the field within fifteen minutes of collection and preserved using a buffer solution. The <br /> CVRWQCB recommends methods 6020 [inductively coupled. plasma mass spectrometry (ICP- <br /> MS)] and method°7199 (ion.chromatography) for'analysis of chromium VI. The CVRWQCB also <br /> recommends method 321.8 for the analysis of bromide and bromate. <br /> The petroleum hydrocarbon plume has not been laterally delineated in the vertical zone identified <br /> as Hydrologic Unit HU2 (approximately forty-five to ninety feet bsg). Submit a work plan to the <br /> EHD by July 8, 2009,to complete the plume delineation vertically. <br /> Based on results from the bench-scale test, a comparison of-the proposed remedial method to <br /> several other potential remedial methods to determine the most cost-effective for removing <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants based on site specific data and cost effectiveness must be <br /> provided.to_the EHD for review before the EHD cart respond to the ozone injection feasibility pilot <br /> study submitted by AGE. <br /> Submit a response to the request for clarification concerning the bench-scale test to the EHD along <br /> with a boring permit application.and inspection fee of$404 to the EHD by May 13, 2009, and <br /> complete the bench-scale test by July 1, 2009.
