SCOPE OF WORK <br /> To assess the vertical and lateral extent of hydrocarbon-and MTBE-impacted soil and ground water <br /> on and near the site, completion of the following tasks is required: <br /> • Permitting and pre-field work activities; <br /> • Installation of monitoring wells; <br /> • CPT drilling and sample collection; - <br /> • Laboratory analysis of samples <br /> • . Preparation of a report of findings. <br /> 3.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> A site assessment boring permit will be obtained from the EHD for all on-site and off-site boring <br /> locations and encroachment permits will,be,obtained from the City of Stockton Public Work <br /> Department.An update to the health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance <br /> with Occupational Safety-and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities <br /> (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. <br /> Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to mobilization,the area of excavation will be clearly. <br /> marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert. <br /> 3.2. INSTALLATION OF MONITORING WELLS <br /> Installation of two additional ground water monitoring wells on the site, one well immediately <br /> southwest of the former dispenser island and the other well immediately west of the former waste <br /> oil UST (T4). The wells will be installed under procedures approved in the Site Investigation Work <br /> Plan, dated 05 February 1996 and prepared by AGE.
