Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. 400 N. El Dorado, Stockton, California
February 2, 1994 Site Assessment Report—RMI 207201 Page 9 of 12
h
According to these criteria, none of the soil samples collected during the drilling
activities contain above allowable concentrations of BTEX In fact, none of the soil
samples collected during previous drilling and overexcavation activities contained
above allowable concentrations of BTEX only two soil samples contained TPH
above the detection limit as analyzed by EPA Method 418 1 , and none of the soil
samples contained detectable amounts of TVPH-G as analyzed by Method 8015
CA-DOHS Method
These results indicate that no BTEX, TVPH-G, or TPH concentrations exceeding
allowable levels were observed in the soil borings Overexcavation confirmation
samples collected from the pit on November 12, 1991, indicate levels of TVPH-G
above the 100-ppm allowable concentration In addition, the field screening results
and observations do not correlate with the analytical results PID readings as well
as odor characteristics indicated high levels of VOCs Based on this, the SJCEHD
has requested that additional remediation be performed
39 Boring Abandonment—Waste Disposal
A portiand cement/5-percent bentonite slurry was placed throughout the entire
vertical profile of soil borings SB-1, SB-2, and SB-4 A "Sakrete" concrete mix was
used for surface completion in all three of the borings The concrete mix was
finished flush with the existing surface
Drill cuttings are currently stored at the site in eight 55-gallon drums Soil boring
sample analyses are being used to characterize this waste The soil will be
disposed in accordance with state and federal regulations, and disposal
documentation will be provided to the San Joaquin County, Environmental Health
Division as an addendum to this report
40 GROUNDWATER DEPTH
Based on information gathered from the California Department of Water Resources,
Central District's 1990 publication Historical Groundwater Levels In San Joaquin County,
the depth to groundwater in six wells within two miles of the site is 58- to 90-feet below
the surface The closest well referenced is located approximately 3800-feet northeast of
' the site and the last groundwater level measurement taken in 1976 was 80-feet below
the surface The six water wells within 2-miles of the site are plotted on a topographic
map, Appendix 8.6. Tables of the corresponding groundwater measurements are also provided as reference in Appendix 8 6.
RYAN41URPHY, INCORMRATED Deaver
Ekwhvnnwnfal Coa&ocibon btanagemeat I Afteks
