PHS/EHD has a contract
with California State Water Resources Control Board to conduct an
underground storage tank corrective action program. The above
referenced site was placed in the PHS/EHD Local Oversight Program
(LOP) in April 1991 .
PHS/EHD has completed review of the file for the above referenced
site and the most recent report prepared by Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc . (AGE) dated March 1997 . The Report
contains groundwater analytical results for the first quarter of
1997 from eight wells installed prior to 1997 and one more
recently installed monitoring well (MW) in the first quarter of
1997 . Based upon the gasoline concentration in the two most
downgradient monitoring wells (#5 and #4) , the groundwater plume
is neither stable nor declining. With the addition of newly
installed MW #5, better plume definition has been accomplished.
It is not neccessary to install any additional monitoring wells
at this time.
Due to the fact that the groundwater contamination plume appears
to be migrating downgradient, corrective action is warranted.
PHS/EHD concurs with your consultant' s (AGE) recommendation to:
1 . Continue quarterly groundwater monitoring and
reporting.
2 . To obtain preapproval from the State Water
Resources Control Board to install vapor
extraction and/or air sparing wells and
implement the Corrective Action Plan (CAP)
submitted to this agency in November 1995 .
3 . To obtain permission and discharge
requirements from the City of Stockton to
dispose of on site purged water into the
sanitary sewer.
A Division of San Joaquin County Heaith Care Services
