SITE CODE: 1986
632 South El Dorado
Stockton
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) is the lead
agency providing the oversight of the investigation and cleanup of releases from underground storage
tanks within San Joaquin County. The above referenced site was placed in the Local Oversight
Program on April 1, 1991.
PHSIEHD has completed review of the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) and most recent Quarterly Report
prepared by Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. Groundwater contamination remains present in high
concentrations (TPH-Gas 230, Benzene 41, Toluene 52, Ethyl benzene 4.9, Xylene 24, all results in
ppm) in the area previously occupied by a 2,000 gallon gasoline underground storage tank which was
removed December 11, 1990.
The CAP contains specific information relating to site history, geology, soil/ground water petroleum
hydrocarbon plume delineation, and aquifer/soil vapor extraction testing. In addition, a feasibility study
was presented which selected vapor extraction as the corrective action technology for site remediation.
The conceptual design of the vapor extraction system (VES) appears appropriate for the site geology
and contaminants identified. Additional extraction wells/points may be needed in the area of soil
contamination in order to increase system influence and efficiency as proposed in the CAP. The VIES
effectiveness will be dependent upon soil permeability and radius of influence between extraction
points.
In addition, before installing any additional wells you must secure required permits from PHSIEHD.
Please submit permit applications and fees to this agency for permit issuance.
If you have any further questions regarding the matter, contact Harlin Knoll at (209) 468-3442.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Margaret Lagorio, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Lead Senior
hk/632cap
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
