Setness
HARTMANN& SETNESS
3203 West March bane,Suite
Stockton,CA 95219
Subject: STOCKTON PLATING
632 South EI Dorado Street,Stockton,California
Dear Mr. Setness:
On 29 January 1998, representatives of Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) met with Mr.
Harlin Knoll and Ms. Margaret Lagorio of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) to discuss the proposed soil.and ground water
remediation system for the referenced site.
The following is a brief summary of the meeting:
1. Recent policy changes at the State and local regulatory levels have required vertical
definition of soil contamination. Vertical assessment of soil contamination has not been
performed at the Stockton Plating site. Therefore, at least one soil boring will be required
near the former UST excavation that extends .below first encountered ground water
(approximately 50 to 70 feet).
F 2. Based upon analytical results of recently collected ground water samples, ground water flow
direction and the rise in relative ground water elevation,AGE recommended the collection
of three grab ground water samples and the installation of one additional }round water
monitoring;well(Quarterly Report-December 1997.One of the grab ground water samples
should be collected northwest of monitoring well MW-3.The PHS-EHD concurred with the
recommendations.
3. A work plan should be submitted by AGE for completion of the vertical assessment of
contamination as well as collection of grab ground water samples and installation of one
additional ground water monitoring well.
4. Installation of the remediation system at the site should be delayed until the additional
assessment has been completed. Upon completion of the additional assessment, any
L BLit 49V 6OZ HNOU i AN3099 (330NVACIV NOaA WVLS=0 L 866 L-BO--Z
