Cherokee Lane in Lodi, California.
Dear Mr. Randhawa,
Wright Environmental Services, Inc. (Wright) was originally contacted to see if we could
attach boots to existing secondary containment lines and achieve a positive test result.
Upon speaking with you personally I explained that many times simple tightening of the
pertinent fixtures and sealing of the boots might achieve a passing test result.
With this in mind I prepared a proposal on April 3, 2003 to inspect the lines attached to
your secondary pipeline bootstand test the system to see if any of the lines would hold
pressure. The proposal was signed and upon inspecting your facility, it was discovered that
the plastic Sealing Nuts within all the Bravo Box Under Dispenser Containment (UDC) sumps
appeared to have been over -tightened at some point and were broken. This made sealing
the system the system for testing the secondary pipelines impossible.
I then proposed on April 8, 2003 that we replace the Sealing Nuts and O -Rings within each
of your UDC's and perform pressure testing of the secondary pipeline to see if this in fact
would cure the pressure leak problem. The proposal was signed and Wright purchased the
materials and installed the O -Rings and Sealing Nuts within each of your UDC's. Upon
performing this task we discovered that we were unable to tighten the Sealing Nut securely
because the entire fixture assembly above and below the Bravo Box would spin as
tightening was attempted.
Wright then notified you that in order to properly install and tighten these Sealing Nuts
within the Bravo Boxes that we would have to break the concrete next to each of these
dispensers, dig and expose the piping attachment coming up underneath the Bravo Boxes
were we could securely hold the fixture in place and tighten the Sealing Nuts for each UDC's
properly. A proposal was prepared on May 5, 2003 and presented to you for exposing the
fixtures beneath the UDC's for tightening them as described above.
To date we have awaited your approval to proceed with the last proposal presented. Please
call me at your convenience if I can answer any further questions that you might have at
(209) 833-0758 or (209) 603-3399.
Sinc(
Richi
General Manager
Wright Environmental
Services, Inc.
67 E. 10th Street • Tracy, CA 95376
209.833.0758 .
