LO INTRODUCTION <br /> This Site Specific Safety Plan establishes the requirements to adequately protect workers <br /> during the conduct of a Site Assessment workplan at Stockton Plating located at 632 South <br /> El Dorado Street Stockton, California (Site) The location of the Site is illustrated on Figure <br /> 1 Specific site safety procedures to be utilized for all personnel involved in the project are <br />' explained herein <br /> This plan presents a realistic approach to the anticipated hazards at the Site and shall be <br /> considered as an appropriate site specific worker protection plan Site conditions may vary <br />' throughout the duration of the project As the conditions change, parts of the plan may be <br /> updated as required All changes in health and safety measures specified must be approved <br /> by the Site Safety Officer (SSO) A copy of this Site Safety Plan will be kept onsite at all <br />' times and made available to all personnel assigned to this project In addition to this, all <br /> information presented in the Site Safety Plan will be reviewed with said employees by the <br /> SSO Project personnel on the Site are expected to be familiar with, and comply with all <br /> portions of the Site Safety Plan Regulatory personnel, visitors and contractors entering the <br />' work areas are expected to be familiar with and adhere to all provisions of the Site Safety <br /> Plan Such personnel will be expected to utilize personal protective equipment which is <br /> equal to, or exceeds that designated by the SSO Documentation of medical and training <br />' qualifications will be required Any personnel failing to adhere to the requirements of the <br /> Site Safety Plan will be prohibited from entering the active work areas <br /> 1.1 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> Site location Stockton Plating <br /> 632 South El Dorado Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Area Affected Commercial <br /> Client contact Bob Huntley <br /> General Manager <br /> Phone (209) 948-1101 <br /> ' 1.2 BACKGROUND <br /> ' The Site is located in an industrial portion of west Stockton and is situated between the Santa <br /> Fe Railroad and the Mormon Slough The land use in the area historically has been industrial <br /> and commercial There is an abandoned linen cleaning facility located immediately to the <br /> ' east of the Site <br /> On August 14, 1986, American Environmental Management Corporation of Rancho <br /> Cordova, California removed a 1,000- Gallon underground storage tank (identified as TKI-86 <br /> on Figure 1) from the Site The tank historically contained only leaded gasoline Analytical <br /> results of the soil sample collected from beneath the former tank location indicated the <br /> presence of diesel, motor oil, and total lead No apparent source for the diesel was <br /> determined AEMC reported encountering rubble fill material during the tank removal <br /> AEMC conduced additional excavation in August, 1986 Two soil samples were collected <br /> from the west and east side of the excavation Total lead and low levels of aromatic volatile <br /> ' 366-002 -1 - <br />
