To do so safely, carefully label <br /> containers of materials , store in a cool , dry location, and maintain <br /> security of the storage area until official guidance is obtained. <br /> SECTION X. SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION <br /> Respiratory Protection: Only NIOSH or MSHA approved equipment should be <br /> used. Minimum respiratory equipment required for vapor: <br /> <_50 ppm: For short periods , canister or cartridge type respirators <br /> with full facepiece. <br /> For emergencies or when concentration is unknown , self—contained <br /> breathing apparatus should be used. <br /> Ventilation: Provide general and local exhaust ventilation to comply <br /> with TLV requirements . <br /> Protective Clothing or Equipment: <br /> 0 To prevent repeated or prolonged skin contact with liquid and solid <br /> chemicals , use impervious clothing, gloves , face shields (eight—inch <br /> minimum), splash—proof safety goggles , and other appropriate <br /> protective clothing. <br /> o Place clothing contaminated with liquids or solids in closed <br /> containers for storage until clothing can be discarded or <br /> decontaminated. If the clothing is to be laundered or otherwise <br /> cleaned to remove the chemical , the person(s) performing the <br /> operation should be informed of the chemical 's hazardous properties <br /> and of ways to minimize exposure. <br /> o A safety shower should be provided within the immediate work area <br /> for emergency use where liquids may contact the employee 's body. <br /> o An eyewash fountain should be provided within the immediate work <br /> area for emergency use where liquids or solids may contact the <br /> employee 's eyes . <br /> SECTION XI. SPECIAL PROCEDURES AND PRECAUTIONS <br /> Procedures and Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing: Store in <br /> we —venti ate area away from oxidizing agents and sources of heat and <br /> ignition. <br /> Other Precautions: Use extreme caution when handling this chemical .
