SPILL, LEAK OR DISPOSAL PROCEDURES <br /> Actions To Take in Case of S ills or leaks: Restrict from areas of <br /> spills or leaks persons not wearing protective equipment and clotning. <br /> Eliminate sources of ignition. Ventilatelarea. Inform supervisor or <br /> health and safety officer of any spill orfleak. While protecting against <br /> eye and skin contact and inhalation of vapors, take the following steps: <br /> o Solid: Shovel or sweep solid into sluitab le container, and cover. <br /> o Liquid: Contain spill . Prevent leakage into confined spaces or <br /> sewer drains. Where feasible, absorb liquid with paper towels , <br /> vermiculite, sand, or other non—combustible absorbent material . <br /> Collect in suitable container anacover. <br /> Disposal methods: Federal laws and regulations impose highly specific <br /> requirements for disposal of toxic and otherwise hazardous materials . <br /> Consult with your supervisor or health an;d safety officer regarding the <br /> proper, legal disposal procedures for,ithi's substance. Do not dispose of <br /> potentially toxic or otherwise hazardous ;substances without appropriate <br /> authorization .
