E1 Dorado Street, Stockton, C^.
r4 Dear Mr. Knowles:
Enclosed we are forwarding the
tion Report dated August 1990, Soil Excavation and Well Tnstalla_
conducted by our consultant Ground-
water Technology, Inc. at the above referenced site T
his documents the soil excavation and aeration of the impacted soils,
backfilling of the excavation with the remediated soils, as well as
the installation of three3
( ) on-site groundwater monitoring wells.
As indicated in the report, some over excavation of the tank _
and beneath the former purip islands was pets
d
vated levels of contamination. These areas fwere overexcavatedeto
the practical limit allowed by. the equipment. Final soil samples i
collected at the bottom of the excavation revealed no significant
contamination r_mains with the exception of one (Z) area east of
the former pumf, island. This area detected TPH at a concentration
of 3400 ppm at 201 . Final soil samples collected at the bottom of E
the waste oil eXco:vation showed oil & grease concentrations from
ND to 21 ppm,
Three (3) borings were ;advanced to depths up to 50'
nd
into groundwater monitoring wells. The boring locationscwereeted
selected to assess the presence of Petroleum hydrocarbon contami-
nation beyond the areas of the excavations and to define the site
geology and hydrology. Analytic testing of the groundwater is
showing moderate levels of contamination; TPH as
centrations range
(
- --- ... ------ 9 to 1500 pb;--Benzene concentrations -----
- - - range from ND to 890 ppb. All soil boring saiales submitted for -- - -
analysis showed no detectable TPH. BTEX was detected in the 18.5 1 .
to 34.0 foot samples in boring MW-3 at concentrations ranging'from
.01 to .2 ppm.
3,
