E1 Dorado Street, Stockton, C^. <br /> r4 Dear Mr. Knowles: <br /> Enclosed we are forwarding the <br /> tion Report dated August 1990, Soil Excavation and Well Tnstalla_ <br /> conducted by our consultant Ground- <br /> water Technology, Inc. at the above referenced site T <br /> his documents the soil excavation and aeration of the impacted soils, <br /> backfilling of the excavation with the remediated soils, as well as <br /> the installation of three3 <br /> ( ) on-site groundwater monitoring wells. <br /> As indicated in the report, some over excavation of the tank _ <br /> and beneath the former purip islands was pets <br /> d <br /> vated levels of contamination. These areas fwere overexcavatedeto <br /> the practical limit allowed by. the equipment. Final soil samples i <br /> collected at the bottom of the excavation revealed no significant <br /> contamination r_mains with the exception of one (Z) area east of <br /> the former pumf, island. This area detected TPH at a concentration <br /> of 3400 ppm at 201 . Final soil samples collected at the bottom of E <br /> the waste oil eXco:vation showed oil & grease concentrations from <br /> ND to 21 ppm, <br /> Three (3) borings were ;advanced to depths up to 50' <br /> nd <br /> into groundwater monitoring wells. The boring locationscwereeted <br /> selected to assess the presence of Petroleum hydrocarbon contami- <br /> nation beyond the areas of the excavations and to define the site <br /> geology and hydrology. Analytic testing of the groundwater is <br /> showing moderate levels of contamination; TPH as <br /> centrations range <br /> ( <br /> - --- ... ------ 9 to 1500 pb;--Benzene concentrations ----- <br /> - - - range from ND to 890 ppb. All soil boring saiales submitted for --� - - <br /> analysis showed no detectable TPH. BTEX was detected in the 18.5 1 . <br /> to 34.0 foot samples in boring MW-3 at concentrations ranging'from <br /> .01 to .2 ppm. <br /> 3, <br />
