ry Chevron/S. E1 Dorado 11
August 1990
oration. A permit was obtained from the San Joaquin County
Air Pollution Control District for uncontrolled on-site soil
aeration of the 470 yd3 found to be impacted by gasoline hydro-
carbons. A copy of Zhe permit is included in Appendix C. A
schedule for soil spreading and sampling was submitted and
approved by the SJCHSD. The soils were turned approximately
twice each week and the soils were sampled on May 23, July 5, and
August 6, 1990. The impacted soils were spread over the site, to
^- an approximate depth of 2- to 3-feet. The soil pile configural
. ations and sampling locations are presented on Figure 3. The
laboratory reports for the aeration soil samples are included in
Appendix D.
w,
Excavation Backfilling and Compaction. on August 14, 15 and
r 16, 1990, the excavation was backfilled and compacted. The
excavation was backfilled using clean imported soil, clean
overburden soil, and aerated soil. The base of the excavation
was backfilled using approximately 50 yd3 of clean imported soil
acquired by Siebold Construction Inc. To complete the
backfilling, approximately 470 yd3 of aerated soil and 100 yd3 of
clean overburden soil was used, as approved by the SJCHSD.
Compaction tests were performed at random locations with a
nuclear gauge to determine moisture content and compaction
values. The results of the compaction tests performed (Appendix
E) indicated values ranging from 90 to 95 percent.
w- MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
-- ----
Well Borings. -Cn-August-15._.and,_16r-1990,-Groundwater-------------- — --- --- - - .--
Technology drilled thvne. soil borings on site, all of which were
completed as groundwater-monitoring wells.
