s -
6
f
I
Previous work at the site has shown that the borings to the 40
foot depth will be in a sandy, clayey silt to silty sand. Once
the boring is completed to the 40 foot depth a one to two foot
san& base will be poured (clean #3 monteray sand) through the
hollow stem augers. Then the 2 inch Schedule 40 F480 TriLcck PVC
casing will be installed with a 2." bottom plug and 5 feet of 0.02"
slot at the bottom with the remainder made up of 2" PVC Schedule
40 F480 TriLock pipe to approximately 2 feet above the surface.
Once the casing has been installed clean #3 monteray sand will be
slowly poured into the annular space between the augers and the
PVC casing, as the augers are staged out of the hole, to guarantee
a sand envelope to the 15 foot depth.
- A neat cement seal will be placed in all of the wells at the same
time and will consist of neat cement (12 sack mixture with 5;
bentonite)., ). The neat
cement seal will be placed by gravity pour
from the 15 foot depth to just above the existing ground
elevation.
The well heads will be fitted with a 2" PVC "T" ,with air tight
locking cap at the top and a sample port with pipe to hose fitting
at the lateral, see Figure 4. These well heads will be glued to
the casing using PVC cement.
E2CAVATED SOIL AND REINSATE HANDLING
All soil produced from the borings will be
4 placed on 10 mil
polyethylene linear and covered with same, if field screening
indicates the presence of hydrocarbons.
All reinsate produced from the cleaning of the auger and sampler
will be contained on site in 17H 55 gallon drums.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
This site has been classified as Class D protection. Hardhats,
gloves, steel toed boots and ear protection are required to be
worn.
